In two years, Dubai Can has saved eighteen million bottles in the fight against single-use plastics.
The Green Initiative government of Dubai declared on Thursday that it has cut the amount of single-use plastic bottles used by more than 18 million.
The project, which was introduced by Dubai's Crown Prince, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, in February 2022, has erected more than fifty recycling machines across the city, including public parks, beaches, and tourist destinations. It attempts to persuade individuals to carry reusable bottles.
These days, water stations can be found in several districts, such as Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai Festival City, Kite Beach, Dubai Marina, JLT, Downtown Dubai, and Khawanee. The city plans to add more public fountains.
The goal, according to Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism, is to encourage locals and guests to install water filters in their homes, workplaces, and educational institutions as well as to utilize refillable water bottles.
EGSH in Dubai simplifies UAE government services like visa renewals, trade licenses, and Ejari registration, all in one day and one location.
