The Lebanese artist made a red heart with recycled objects in Abu Dhabi Children's Heart Surgery Hospital

An artist makes a 'heart' shape out of recycled items at an Abu Dhabi hospital known for its pediatric heart surgery.

In the same year, a Lebanese artist based in Abu Dhabi created a heart-shaped artwork with recycled materials in the Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC).

The initiative came as part of the hospital's celebrations for being designated by the Ministry of Health - Abu Dhabi as a Center of Excellence for Pediatric Cardiac Surgery. On this occasion, the hospital organized a day of fun activities for children, parents, pediatric cardiologists, and heart surgeons.

Abboud, the Lebanese artist, finished most of the 2.5 by 1.6-meter pieces, keeping the bottom part for the children to finish.

He said in Bay Times: "Art is my passion. The heart is a sign of love and affection. Therefore, I dedicated this heart to the children. I wanted to bring a smile to their faces. So I let them build the base of the artwork. It was a beautiful and fun experience.
